Full Time = 36 hours/week. Overtime after 40hrs/wk.

 

Duties of the Assistant Chief:

•    Reports to the Deputy Chief
•    Assigned to an ALS or BLS unit full time
•    Serves as the direct report for the Engineer
•    Oversees vehicle maintenance, repairs, and rotation
•    Assists with maintaining budget for each vehicle
•    On-call supervisor responsibilities
•    Assists in covering call outs when needed
•    Oversees narcotic supply/ usage/ replenishment with Supply Coordinator
•    Conducts internal investigations regarding damage to BCRS vehicles and/or accident involving BCRS vehicles
•    Responsible for new driver training
•    Assists with building maintenance and upkeep

Minimum Required Qualifications:

•    EMT, I-EMT or Paramedic in good standing (PA state certification)
•    ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
•    Ability to obtain PSP, FBI, and child abuse background checks

Pay Rate based on qualifications:

•    Paramedic/Asst Chief@ $31/hr.
•    Intermediate EMT/ Asst. Chief@ $28/hr.
•    EMT/Asst. Chief@ $26/hr.
